Life Is A Spiritual Struggle
After reading this I felt as if I could relate to the teacher in a sense because I believe in spirituality. Also the reading shows that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. and that everyone is going through their own struggle. The inner city kids were confused about his apparence and the bruises everywhere and he's taking his talent to help other kids.
Admittance To A Better Life
In this reading, I thought of my father because my father came from a third world country (Guyana) then moved to New York. Some might think that since this happening that he probably won't have that much to look forward to, he ended up going to an Ivy League school (Columbia University) and majored in math. Although there was so much doubt about where he'd end up, he's done pretty good for himself.

I this reading, what caught my attention is when it started by saying "What makes a person smart?" I thought deeply about this question and was confused myself. This passage reminded me of the first one and second one because of the doubt there was. I feel like doubt is a theme within these three readings. The lady tried her best in life and became fluent in 5 languages which would probably e the hardest thing to do for an average everyday American. I feel as if she did a good job proving people wrong.
